It is with great sadness that I inform you that Virginia Brereton, Lecturer in English, passed away early Friday morning in a fire at her home in Brookline. Ginny taught freshman English for many years and was a beloved figure in her department. She was exceptionally devoted to her advisees and students, spending long hours helping them improve their writing skills. She also was an avid rock climber, a passion she shared with her husband Jack and their sons Richard and Jay. She will be greatly missed by her colleagues and the many students she taught at Tufts over the years.
