Version 5 (Pastel)
Everything except the photo pages has been converted to the new look now; leave a comment if you experience any problems (or notice any pages that don’t validate).
My main goal this time around was a tighter, more professional look. Look for a design portfolio to become part of the site later this summer. Some notes:
- I limited the width of the main column and increased the line height to make my entry text more readable.
- The yellow flourish in the background and the “man in the moon” at the bottom of each page are my attempts to relieve the boring, boxy look a lot of weblogs (especially the MT default templates) seem to suffer from.
- The main banner font is ITC New Baskerville.
- Some older entries have images which are wider than the new layout and end up sticking out the side. I’ll be going through and resizing those as I find them over the next few weeks. Feel free to e-mail me if you stumble across them yourself.
- Tightened up the comments listing and entry form.
Starting Monday I’ll be working 35 hours a week doing web design elsewhere. As a result I may not have time to implement all of your suggestions right away, but I’ll certainly be listening. Send me an email.

The links on the right are way way down past the end of the entries. I doubt that’s how you intended them to look…and also I can’t see the flourish or the moon thing. This could be because my computer is old and dumb. Perhaps I’ll try it on the iBook later.
Other than that, I like :)

I love the way comments are done. Very nice design, I like the pastels. Really like the moon in the footer.
